Pulling corn for the deer!
Corn prices have rocketed so we were offered some free corn in a field
that is overgrown with weeds and sandspurs.
It was hot today and we went to gather corn for the 6 wild does
that come to our home every day to eat and drink.
Different ones will come for years until the hunting season and
some may not survive through hunting season.
We should be having a fawn arriving one day with its mother
to our yard..if it survived the predators
They hide the new fawns in tall weeds while the mother doe
goes off to eat during the day..until the fawn is strong enough
to travel miles each day with its mother..
I saw a newborn fawn last week that was in the highway standiing there and no larger than a puppy..
We stopped the car until it went back to the
tall roadside weeds to wait for its mother.
It was a beautiful light tan color with white spots.

Leo loves the waterfall drinking fountain!
I wish these had been for sale years ago as I have had cats or
a dog all my life!
We purchased this Drinkwell Platinum pet waterer and hooked it up
with its charcoal filter and we put filtered water in it out of our
filtered water in our refrigerator.
The youngest 2 year old tomcat came to the waterer and he splashed and played
in it, and then he began to drink from the waterfall stream.
I laughed and laughed so happy that he is now drinking water all during the day!
He never really liked water but he loves the fresh, filtered , cold water!
He did stop splashing the water and just drinks now.
Hopefully the 2 older tomcats will start to enjoy it too!
I wanted to help prevent urinary problems by getting them to increase their
water consumption.
This is the Drinkwell platinum pet waterer..
sold at Petsmart and online through Amazon.
You only replace the charcoal filters once a month
I bought extra charcoal filters to have at home
when I need to change it.
Hummingbirds migrating back to Central America
I had about 8 hummingbirds born here this summer
now I have about 45 of them and all have white tips
on their tails indicating that they were born this summer.
They are traveling through my southern state on their way
to winter in central america.
I guess someone told them that Sheri has a bed and breakfast
and stop by to get some sugar water and get stronger for their
flight across the Gulf of Mexico ocean towards Central America.

The cat who loves shoes!
Bro is a 5 year old tomcat who loves shoes!
He loves my bedroom slippers, my husbands work shoes,
his bedroom slippers.
We walked out the door the other morning and Bro
has placed his left paw in the left shoe and the
right paw in the right shoe!
I had the camera and took this photo.
I promise you I did not place the shoes
in that position..
I doubt I will ever see this again
in my lifetime!

Happy Mother's day to Sheri
Happy Mother's day for me from the 3 tomcats,
Peebo, Bro and Leo!
They gave me a beautiful card and a dragonfly
that is solar lit for Sheri's healing flower garden.
Of course they had to ask Larry to shop for them
and he did a good job for my children who wanted
to give their mother a Mother's day gift!
Daylily's In Sheri's healing flower garden!
I walk along with
Leo, Bro and Peebo among the daylilys
each morning and again at night when the moonlight shines
down on each exquisite bloom knowing that when dawn arrives
that days bloom has lived its life..
and that at dawn a new bloom will start on its one day
journey of life..
